Unfamiliar surroundings, language barriers, changing routines, bureaucracy, loneliness, and the loss of usual support systems all add up to a layer of stress that isn't always easy to recognise. The session held by Amanda offers an accessible introduction to the nervous system and how stress affects us, drawing on her own journey of moving between countries and building a life in Poland

Practical Strategies for Polish Language Learning in Pomerania

Learning Polish as an adult newcomer is no small feat, but it doesn't have to feel impossible. In this session, Elizabeth shares practical, real-world strategies for picking up the language, seen from a double perspective: as an English teacher, and as a learner of Polish herself.
